Diane has been passionate about art since she was a small child. She grew up in a small town near the shores of Georgian Bay and still spends her summers there where she keeps a boat at a local marina. Instead of following her dream of becoming a full time artist, she decided to pursue a career as an accountant. After receiving her accounting designation (CGA), she immediately discovered that she still had a real passion for art. She says “the artist in me re-surfaced again” and decided to pick up her paint brush again. Diane is mostly self-taught but has had the opportunity to study art for a period of time at the Newmarket School of Fine Arts.

Diane has been working with watercolour and acrylic for several years. She prefers to paint with acrylic because of the intensity of the colours that can be achieved with this media. Her favourite type of art is realism but she is starting to try her brush at impressionism and abstract. She paints mostly landscapes (especially the rocky terrain of Georgian Bay) but also paints wildlife, still life and other subjects. All of her paintings are originals (one limited edition giclee print in production). Some of her paintings are available on blank greeting cards. See Purchase for information.

Diane is a member of Quest Group of Artists of Huronia. Her paintings have been accepted by several juried art exhibitions, receiving several awards. In addition, she has won several people’s choice awards.
